Hi,

I'm a recent registered member of Ultimate Jukebox. I've now got my home built dedicated jukebox configured the way I want it, but there are a handful of things I'm still trying to tweak.

I've searched through the guides, the UJ menus, and of course this forum but can't seem to find an answer. Pardon me if I've missed it.

Feature suggestion:
I use the 'Artists and Cover Art' view. Would it be possible in the artist list (left hand side) to group videos and music titles together? In particular, I'd like "Videos" (or "Videos Clips") to be a kind of "Virtual Album"

Currently, I have
"titles/tracks"
->Michael Jackson
           -> Thriller (album)
                     -> Baby Be Mine
                     -> Thriller
"video clips"
->Michael Jackson
                     -> Thriller (video)

Which have to be expanded, each with its list of artists... this makes it a less intuitive if you want to play songs from a particular artist whether its video or not. What I'm hoping for is:
(M)
  -> Michael Jackson
           -> Thriller (album)
                     -> Baby Be Mine
                     -> Thriller
           -> Video Clips (ie virtual album)
                     -> Thriller (video icon)

Ideally, songs and videos would have some kind of icon to tell them apart at a glance?

Other questions/feature suggestions:
* When you double click the 'album cover/video' window, it maximises to full screen (if its a video). Would it be possible to have some kind of visualisation plugin (like winamp/windows media player) for songs that don't have videos? I like the idea of hiding the actual UI whilst the playlist is busy playing.

Alternatively (if music-reactive visualisation is not feasible), just a full screen with the native size of the album cover displayed with the artist/song title shown underneath.

Hi dmworking247,

UJ doesn't actually require you to have separate collections (Audio, Music Video, Karaoker etc) you can scan everything in together, it just depends on file naming conventions on how well that all turns out.  So you can actually "Video Clips" folder to the list of "Audio Folders" and UJ will scan in your videos and mix them in with your audio tracks.  It will show a different icon depending on if it's a video or an audio file.

If you've already got your videos loading properly in the Music Video collection then it would be worthwhile scanning them into the audio collection and simply see what happens.

The only trick here is going to be making sure that you get an "Album Name" for your videos.  As long as all your music videos conform to the structure you mentioned it may work to use a mask like %b\%a\%t  (based on a structure like Album\Artist\Title.mpg) and then "Uncheck" the "Artist from Parent" and "Album from Parent" options.  Note that this will mess with the display of any untagged audio files though, since you only get the one file mask, this may or may not be an issue for you.  So if your structure is "Video Clips\Michael Jackson\Thriller.mpg" then, in theory, Michael Jackson would get an album named "Video Clips" with "Thriller" inside it.  Good in theory...

Aa for the full screen album cover, have you looked at the screen saver yet?  It pretty much does what you're asking for.

Regards,

Tony
